Ben
Gilbert is a Certified Financial Planner® and has been practicing as
a fee-only financial advisor since 2005.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Humboldt State University and graduated from the Financial Planning program at University of Portland.
Ben has presented seminars on retirement planning, understanding investment choices, designing portfolios, college planning and the basics of financial planning for young professionals. He has worked extensively with clients in the areas of retirement planning, college funding, stock options and cash flow planning during retirement.
Formerly employed as a computer programmer at Cisco Systems and Silicon Graphics, Ben brings strong analytical skills and attention to detail in his work with clients. He designed and developed the software program used by Silver Oak Advisory Group to run long-term retirement projections and portfolio reviews.
Ben currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Oregon and SW Washington Financial Planning Association and participates in both the local and national NexGen Financial Planning communities. On the weekends he volunteers as a mentor with Minds Matter. He lives with his wife and their two sons in South East Portland, Oregon.
