Saving for College
The benefits of a college education are many—higher pay and lower risk of unemployment being just a few. Unfortunately, in today’s economy, college and all of its benefits feel out of reach to many families. While loans and financial aid can help, a good savings strategy is often the best way to create a successful plan for college.
Silver Oak Advisory Group's free Saving for College workshop will help you understand your options and identify strategies to help you effectively save for college. During the presentation we will:
- Examine the current and future cost of a college education
- Identify how much to save
- Review college savings options, including:
- 529 College Savings Accounts
- Education Savings Accounts
- UTMA/UGMA Custodial Accounts
- U.S. Savings Bonds
- Discuss tax consequences of various savings strategies
- Review investment strategies and risk tolerance
